Founded in 1993 in Gravellona Toce, in mountainous Northern Italy, by a group of engineers with over thirty years of experience in the stone working machinery sector, it started its business by designing and manufacturing bridge saws for the stone industry.
GMM rapidly forged its position as a world leader in the production of traditional bridge saws, block cutters, and polishers - adding the new CNC technology to the range in 2010 GMM, a new range of CNC controlled 5-Axis bridge saws were born.
In 2013, GMM acquired the controlling share in Cemar who specialized in the manufacture of systems for flat and vertical polishing (edge polishing), and then most recently integrating into the product range waterjets through the purchase of the Australian Techni Waterjet (Twj), a company specializing in waterjet cutting machines with innovative technology in the metal, stone and glass sectors.
In 2004, the incorporation of GMM North America was established to better guarantee aftersales assistance, service and parts supply for all North American clients. This has recently been expanded to include a sales division.
To date, the GMM group can count over 9,000 machines built and installed in over 80 countries, with 160 employees and a wide reaching distribution network, GMM is truly a world wide and world class machine manufacturer.
